Behaviour consultations for more complex behaviours are available for dogs upon referral from your vet and completion of a history form for your pet giving details of the behaviour that concerns you. Because some behavioural problems stem from medical conditions, close involvement between Positively Dog Behaviour and your veterinary surgeon is important.
As a clinical animal behaviourist, I take time to identify the individual needs of each pet and their owner, providing a tailor-made treatment programme. Time and commitment are necessary to ensure any behaviour adjustment programme succeeds. Positively Dog Behaviour is here to support you through the process using up-to- date, evidence-based diagnostic, training and rehabilitation techniques.
I cover Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and North Leicestershire areas. Consultations take place in your own home providing convenience for you and allowing me to see your pet in their home environment.
(Travel charges may apply, see our prices for details).
Behaviour Consultations for dogs and puppies:
Once we have received all the completed paperwork for your pet (completed veterinary referral form, full medical history, completed owner history form) we will contact you to arrange suitable consultation date and time. A consultation will usually take between 2 to 3 hours. Following the consultation, you will receive a key point action plan giving details of training exercises discussed during the consultation. This will be followed up by a detailed report which will be emailed to you with a copy also going to your vet. Support is provided for three months following your initial consultation visit, including a one-hour training session at your home plus up to four 30-minute phone or Teams calls to review your pet’s progress.
If an underlying medical condition or discomfort are suspected to be contributing to your pet’s behaviour, you will be referred back to your vet for further medical advice.
Review Consultations for dogs and puppies:
Following your initial consultation, shorter review consultations (for the same behaviour of concern) are available if booked within six months of the date of your last consultation. A review consultation allows us to assess your pet’s progress and build upon or adjust your behaviour management programme as appropriate. Continuing support is provided for a period of three months following a review visit including one further 30-minute training visit and four 30-minute phone or Teams calls. Further review visits can be booked if required.
Additional training sessions can be purchased if required.
